Our flu vaccines are due to arrive next month and appointments are available from the 23rd September 2024. We have a limited number of vaccines and recommend booking early.

Why should you get a flu vaccine?

Flu can lead to serious complications and hospitalisation, particularly for those in high-risk groups, but is unpleasant for everyone leading to missed work, travel plans and family time.
Getting flu vaccinated not only protects you, but also those around you.

How does the flu vaccine work?

The flu vaccine triggers your body to make antibodies that help protect you against the influenza virus. After this, if you are exposed to the same virus, your body can recognise and fight it.

You need a vaccination every year because influenza viruses are constantly changing, and vaccination only protects you against the strains of flu virus expected for the coming winter.

We are able to socialise more now than we have in the last couple of years but of course, there are increased opportunities for flu to spread.

Who can have a flu jab with us?

We can provide flu vaccines to all members and patients aged 2 and over.
We do not carry the nasal spray vaccine.
Please note the vaccines we use are suitable for those with egg allergy and for vegans.
